East River C.R.E.W.'s new davit got its first use April 29, 2006, taking the rowing boat Saint David out of the water following open water rowing an 11-mile stretch from Pier 40 on the Hudson, around the Battery, and up the East River via Hallet's Cove. For the first time since its launch at Red Hook, Brooklyn, Saint David hauled out in its neighborhood!
